It's occurred to me that I should have used either a framework or another language. I've been using .NET at work, and development with that goes a lot faster than with raw PHP. It'd be nice to use something with a library of "control" style elements. I've written a lot of code at this point, though, so I didn't want to just start over. However, I've been thinking about some design changes lately (which I'll go into later) that might require a rewrite anyway. It is.
